Saw something on the net that i feel like sharing to everyone out there! :') Dating rules you must break When it comes to dating, what are the so-called protocols you should toss out? Men must pay for dinner Given how evolved social norms and chivalry have muddied the water on who should be picking up the check, gone are the days when men were assumed to be responsible for the tab. However, some guys think it's ungentlemanly if they don't offer paying. If he insists, do let him pay -- he's just being gallant. No matter who foots the bill, just don't split it down to the middle, especially on first dates. My personal thoughts: Ladies, you shouldn't let men pay all the time and its okay to pay once in a while. It should be more of a give and take thing! I think that its more of "testing market" and we actually wanna see if our date takes the initiative to pay for the bill. But if your men doesn't wanna pay all the time... then there must be something wrong. LOL! Don't date your friend's ex Ditch the old adage that you should never date your friend's old squeeze. If there's chemistry, it's worth the risk. Do a little bit of digging of the story behind their breakup. And make sure there's no longer love connection between them before you begin to fathom a relationship with your love interest. My personal thoughts: Its never cool to date your bestfriend's ex. There must be a reason why things don't work out between them! I don't know how to really interpret what I feel like saying about this, but really, its just not cool! There are many fishes out there! *lol* A woman should never ask a man out If you're one who shies away from being the initiator, you leave it to the man to do the job. But if you aren't, don't worry about the traditional dating rule which says it's always the man's responsibility to do the asking. If he freaks out when you do, it just shows that he's probably not for you. While they love the thrill of chasing, guys would actually appreciate that they don't have to take the plunge all the time. My personal thoughts: Well.. I would say that if the guy just keeps quiet and goes missing in action after the first date, he probably doesn't have any interest in you. But if you both have been going on several dates already, its okay to plan and ask him out to somewhere nice! He'll appreciate that! :') You can't check out other hotties Let's be honest -- it's our guilty pleasure. When someone gorgeous crosses our path, we can't help but ogle them. It's not cheating. It's just in our genetic makeup. If that bothers your significant other, be a little bit more ingenious while checking them out. You don't want to drool over other hunks or babes blatantly while your partner is with you. But if you catch your partner in the act, your berating will never change him; it'll only show that you feel insecure.
Initiate follow-up only after three days If you hit it off with your date during the first rendezvous, how long do you wait before doing the follow-up? There's this golden rule in the dating world which says you should keep in touch only after three days. However, rules are meant to be broken. If you're into your date, you'd be wondering why he hadn't called or texted. At least drop a text the next day saying that you had fun with her and would love a second date. My personal thoughts: 3 days or more should be fine! Have some space to at least make both parties look forward to seeing each other. If its too soon it'll be boring i guess! Always be mysterious While it's good to hold your horses and not reveal all your cards on the first date to keep the attraction flowing, give your love interest a chance to know the real you after that. However, avoid bragging about your accomplishments or the assets you own. We typically try hard to put our best foot forward when we first date. But after a while, these will tend to vanish -- we'll no longer impress our significant other as much. So, don't keep her interest level too high at the beginning. My personal thoughts: Most importantly, be yourself. Of course everyone wants to give a good impression on a date! Avoid talking about your ex on a date If you wish to start over with a clean slate, you should never treat your past relationships as a taboo subject. Talk about it when your date initiates the topic (if he ever does) but never get emotional or start trashing your old flame. He'll think that he's just your rebound guy. If you avoid it, he'd probably think that you're still hung up on your ex. My personal thoughts: You should only come to this topic if the our date asks about it! Its been so long since i last pamper myself with clothes! *happy girl for a minute* I've slowed down on headbands, earrings, shoes(I NEED TO) some time back(some of you must have wondered.. how some time back is that.. *lol*) My mission for this month: $AVE MONEY$$$$ *keeps fingers crossed* Anyways school is starting this coming monday and i'm so not looking forward towards it. Most of my classmates & good friends are posted to IPP(attachment) whereas im all alone doing FYP. What can I say, just my luck. Why? Cause of no interest. and maybe also cause im dumb :/ Wanted to try my luck asking my mentor to swap me, but then i got lazy and i didn't even bother asking. Serve me right. I think I bought *counts in my head* 9 pairs of wedges this year and 4 pairs of my wedges are rotting at home. I've only used 2 of those pairs once, and the other 2 pairs is hiding in my room under my bed. *lol* I think my dad will kill me if he sees them in my room. Scawee~ (not!) Mum says that i gotta control myself from having the urge to buy something everytime I go out & my sister keeps telling me that the devil is around me all the time asking me to buy this and that. Me and family all voted for him and our gut feeling says that he's gonna win it fo sho and also cus he seem to be the hot favourite among all. Congrats Dr Tony! :') I don't get it why some singaporeans are so worked up on him winning the title. In Singapore the one that has more power is the Prime Minister so who cares if who wins as the President? As what people always say, the president is just the "puppet". So yeah people, get over it. Its over. So moving on.. Send my bibik back to Indonesia for 10days as she wanted to celebrate Hari Raya at her own country this year. So from now till 8th September im the new maid in the house. (NOT) I've helped to clean up my room, wash my own plate, fold clothes, but not ironing clothes. Im always afraid to iron the clothes sometimes cus i once iron my dad's hari raya baju and it burnt into a big hole. My bad! Ciao!
